FACE Of Mahaska County Celebrating Local Artists

The Oskaloosa Art Center is hosting the ‘Face Members Show’, which will be on display through January.
Oskaloosa, Iowa – It’s easy to get trapped into the hurry-up mode of the Christmas holiday, but the Oskaloosa Art Center opened it’s doors for visitors to stop and enjoy the artwork from local artists.
Briana Bartlett, Face of Mahaska County board member was happy with the attendance of their first ‘Face Members Show’.
Members of Face of Mahaska County were allowed to display work they had created, with the show featuring several two dimensional and three-dimensional works.
Contemporary to abstract art could be found inside the gallery. Artists used ceramic, fibers, metal, glass, brush, paint, acrylic and pencil in their creations.
“There is a variety of art on display here,” added Bartlett of the first ever members show. “It’s a good chance to show off our members work.
The show allows local artist also to sell some of their work, helping them to fund their future work, or pay their light bill.
The ‘Face Members Show’ will be up for all of January.
Looking towards 2019, FACE will be hosting Matt Kargol, and his sculpture work will be on display in the gallery in February.
