Edgar Cary, 51, of Ottumwa, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at The University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Edgar Ernest Cary, son of Charles Lee and Flola Arminta (Downing) Cary, was born December 23, 1969, in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Edgar attended Ottumwa schools.
In his early 20’s Edgar was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis; this cruel disease left him disabled and eventually confined to a wheelchair. He will be remembered as a quiet man with great love for his family.
Those left to honor his memory are his siblings: Charles “Chuck” Cary, Debbie (& Jim) Williams, and Cindy Cary; a nephew, Steven (& Sammie) Williams; a niece, Kassy Williams; a great-niece, Emmy Williams of Ottumwa; and great-nephews, Liam and Keaton Danes of Ottumwa.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021, at Shaul Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Wilkins of The Bridge Church in Ottumwa.
Memorial contributions can be made in Edgar’s name to his family.
