Christmas on the River was held Dec 3, 2021 in historic Eddyville Iowa.

The vendor fair started at 3:30. Children from the EBF school district entered a coloring contest. More than 150 children took over City Hall as they made a reighndeer craft.

The Unforgettables, Saxophone quartet, warmed Melody’s Kitchen with their holiday tunes. The Agrippwer FFA gave away hot chocolate.

A living Nativity was beheld by all. The Mayor addressed the crowd and counted down the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Upon lighting the tree Carols were sung around the tree.

A scavenger hunt was taking place throughout the night. Sleds were donated by Cargill that children won for the coloring contest and scavenger hunt.

Thank you to Rylee Wilz, Devan Rolofson, Fran Katko, and Bev Lehman for planning this event, Phyllis Sutton for leading the Christmas Carol’s, and the family of Melody Voss for providing the animals for the Living Nativity. Thank you to all who worked behind the scene to make this night a success. We look forward to next year’s Christmas on the River with even more attractions and events to enjoy.
