EBF Volleyball Wins On The Road
The EBF volleyball team had an exciting match against Albia on September 26, 2023.
Here’s a summary of the stats and some ofCoach Gladys Genskow’s comments.
Molly Shafer had an impressive performance with 32/37 attacks, 17 kills, 3/5 serving, 9 digs, and 1 block.
Kate Shafer contributed with 13/14 attacks, 9 kills, 18 assists, 1/3 serving, and 6 digs.
Aliya Wagamon had 11/13 attacks, 7 kills, 1 assist, 21/22 serving, 5 aces, 2 digs, and 2 blocks.
Lily Davis made 5/6 attacks, 1 kill, 10 assists, 18/19 serving, 6 digs, and 3 blocks.
Kaylee Helm added 1 assist, 9/11 serving, and 2 aces.
Lacey Taylor made 3/3 attacks, 1 kill, 10/12 serving, 2 aces, and 3 digs.
Ella Ray made 3/3 attacks and 1 kill.
Hailey Boyer contributed with 3 digs.
Coach Genskow praised the team for a great conference win over Albia and highlighted the fantastic in-system balls.
Genskow noted that in sets 2 and 3, the team served better, but there were issues with inconsistent passing and too many missed serves during the match. Despite the challenges, she commended the team for staying focused throughout the night, even in the face of a tough student section from Albia.
“We play at Newton on Saturday. Staying focused and gutting it out after a long week of Homecoming activities at EBF will be a main focus, along with improving our passing and serving,” said Genskow.
