E/B Students Shine at Solo Contest

Eddyville-Blakesburg Schools

On Saturday March 31st, Students from Eddyville Blakesburg High School performed at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Clarke High School in Osceola. The E/B students earned 13 Division I Ratings and 7 Division II ratings. Those students earning division I ratings (superior) were: Jessica Jones, Flute & Piccolo solos, Kai Ishida; marimba solo, Anna Haselhuhn; trumpet solo, Gage DeLaCruz; trumpet solo, Brooke Lunsford; vocal and alto sax solo, Megan Street; flute solo, Emma Haselhuhn; tenor sax solo, Flute Duet; Jessica Jones and Megan Street, flute quartet; Jessica Jones, Megan Street, Shelby Dunwoody, and Hope Starr, Saxophone trio: Brooke Lunsford, Samantha Claypool, and Jessica Jones, and Saxophone duet; Brooke Lunsford and Jessica Jones.

Students receiving Division II ratings (excellent) were: Courtney Durst; marimba solo, Kai Ishida; tympani solo, Aaron Huff; tuba solo, Samantha Claypool; alto sax solo, Paula Morrison; clarinet solo, Kai Ishida; vocal solo, and Allison Loving; clarinet solo

Also performing band solos, vocal solos or ensembles were: Neisha Van Gorp, Jessica Bay, Sammantha Carothers, Morgan Lee, Aislynn Stockdall, Irene Roberts, and Faith Starr.
