Early Lead For Pella Seals Fate For Oskaloosa Indians Varsity

Oskaloosa Indians Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-1 loss to Pella on Monday. Pella scored on a groundout by Keegan Hansen in the first inning, a single by Josh Miller in the first inning, a single by Nick De Jong in the second inning, and a error in the second inning.
The Oskaloosa Indians Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Pella, giving up 12 runs.
In the first inning, Pella got their offense started. Hansen grounded out, scoring one run.
Pella scored three runs in the seventh inning. Pella offense in the inning was led by Nathan Born and Cole Hillman, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Jason Knox got the start for Pella. The ace went two and a third innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out four and walking one.
Aiden Hildenbrand was on the hill for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity. The bulldog allowed two hits and four runs over one and one-third innings. Kamden Criss, Colin Snitker, and Logan Hoskinson each contributed in relief for Oskaloosa Indians Varsity.
Hildenbrand went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Oskaloosa Indians Varsity in hits.
De Jong led Pella with two hits in four at bats. Pella didn’t commit a single error in the field. De Jong had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
