Des Moines River Canoe & Kayak Float

Oskaloosa, Iowa – On Saturday, June 16 join the Mahaska County Conservation Board and the Mahaska Wellness coalition on a canoe and kayak float on the Des Moines River. Beginning at 9:00 am, we will float for about 2 1/2 hours along the river. There is no cost to participate in this event and the MCCB has a limited number of canoes and kayaks available to borrow. Participants may also bring their own canoe or kayak. The route will begin or end at the Eveland Access and due to the fluctuating river levels, the route will be determined the week of the float. All pre-registrants will be contacted about the float plans. Pre-registration is required. Call the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327 to sign up.
