DEIDRE FREEMAN FARES WELL AT U.S. OLYMPIC DIVING TRIALS

SEATTLE, Wash. – Grinnell College diving coach Deidre Freeman had a strong showing at the United States Olympic Diving Trials during the past week.

Freeman, who was an All-American diver at the University of Iowa, teamed up with Veronica Rydze to place fourth in the women’s synchronized 3-meter springboard event. They finished with 794.82 points, just 11.28 points out of third and 161.58 behind champions Abby Johnston and Kelci Bryant. The event winners earned the U.S. berth to the Olympics.

Freeman also competed in the women’s 3-meter springboard competition, where she was 18th with 484.65 points.
