Danny L. Beason, 64 of Iowa City died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. He was born Sunday, July 6, 1947 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of Kenneth and Henrietta Hite Beason. Following school he worked various places doing construction. He then drove semi for Lynn Trucking Company in Oskaloosa and worked at Allgood Construction for several years. Lastly he worked at Wenco in Grinnell. He enjoyed racing, fishing, working on cars, and camping. He was a member of the Eagles.
His family includes his 5 daughters: Rhonda (& Dave) Ware of Ottumwa and Brenda (& Duane) Voog both of Ottumwa, Lori (& Dennis) Patterson, Christina (& Larry) Beason, and Amanda (& Dennis) O’Brien all of Oskaloosa; 3 sons: Mark (& Toni) Beason of Cedar Rapids, Ricky Beason of Beacon, and Daniel (& Wendy) Beason of Ollie, Iowa; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister: Linda Clapp of Oskaloosa; and 2 brothers: Donald (& Kyong) Beason of Oskaloosa, Larry (& Linda) Beason of New Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson: Jason Ware; a granddaughter: Ashley Ware; a sister: Sherry Arthur; a nephew: Kyle Arthur.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the Searsboro Community Cemetery in Searsboro, Iowa. Visitation will begin Monday after 1:00 P.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Danny Beason Memorial Fund.
