Oskaloosa–Clay Tucker (Sr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Elementary Education) and Carly Schmalz (Sr., Buffalo Lake, Minn., History/Government) both posted the best rounds of their collegiate careers to help them to receive Heart of America Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week awards Monday.

Tucker posted a four-under 68 to tie for third out of 79 players, assisting the William Penn men to second place at the season-opening Midwest Intercollegiate Open last week. It is the first time the senior has broke par in a college event.

Schmalz was first out of 41 players as she carded a 74; WPU was the team winner as well at the Open. The individual title is the first of her career.

The honors are the first for both the men’s and women’s linkster programs.
