Burford to Play in Luxembourg
Oskaloosa–Brady Burford is following in the footsteps of fellow Statesmen greats as he has signed a contract to play professionally in Luxembourg.
The former William Penn cager recently inked with BBC Arantia Larochette. He joins 2012-2013 All-Americans Brandon Beasley and Keith Steffeck on the list of WPU men’s basketball players to play post-collegiately in the small European country.
Burford dressed in the navy and gold for just one season, but had an amazing campaign, helping William Penn to a 29-7 record and a quarterfinal finish at the NAIA Division I National Championships this past winter.
The 6-6 forward was an NAIA Honorable-Mention All-American and also received first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference laurels. He averaged 16.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in addition to 39 assists, 33 steals, and 23 blocks. He shot 57.1% from the field and reached double figures in all but one of his 32 games played. His season was highlighted by 11 double-doubles, including a year-best 32 points with 11 rebounds versus Peru State.
