Bonnie Lou Bullock, 89 of Oskaloosa, Iowa passed Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born October 21, 1932, at the family home in northern Missouri to Lem C. and Blanch (Speer) Jarvis and was educated in the Davis County School system.
On March 15, 1956, she married Robert E. Bullock at the Bloomfield Christian Church. To this union was born a daughter, Cindy, and a son, Steven.
Bonnie was a homemaker and mother. She was a 50+ year member of the Oskaloosa Christian Church where she served as a deaconess, board chairman, elder emeritus, and wedding coordinator. She was also a 50+ year member of TTT and the Kings Daughters. Bonnie worked part-time and full-time as a secretary for over 30 years.
Bonnie followed the Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packers football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball teams whenever possible. She especially enjoyed traveling on bank sponsored trips and vegetable and flower gardening, with roses being a particular favorite.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (& Steve) Eggleston of Cape Coral, FL, and son, Steve (& Kelly) Bullock of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Theresa (& Jeff) Eckles of Blue Earth, MN and Scott (& Jenna) Juchems of Albion, IA, and Quentin Bullock and John Paul Bullock both of Traverse City, MI; great grandchildren: MacKenzie and Marcus Eckles of Blue Earth, MN and Dalton and Morgan Juchems of Albion, IA; three step-granddaughters, and one step-grandson and their families; as well as her sisters: Loretta (& Ted) Augspurger of St. Petersburg, FL and Jean (& Don) Whisler of McHenry, IL; her sister-in-law, Freda Weaver of Ottumwa; and numerous nephews and nieces who were very special to her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; father-in law and mother-in-law, J. Paul and Opal Bullock; a brother, Gilbert Jarvis; a sister, LaVeta Aeschliman; a nephew, Jay Whisler; and niece, Sheryl (Jarvis) Tipton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa with Pastor Molly Goodrich officiating.
Interment will be at the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will be at the First Christian Church prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 to greet friends and relatives.
