Beethoven Plus Beer Makes For A New Friday After Five Experience
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Changes took place to the Friday After Five community gathering, over the offerings of past years.
This year, patrons of the beer garden, along with others, can enjoy the shade and seating available in the central park, versus standing in the street.
Oskaloosa Chamber Director Valinn McReynolds spoke to Oskaloosa News about those changes.
McReynolds said that the annual social gathering was changed up after she and the committee received feedback. “It’s a community event. It’s the event for the people in Oskaloosa.”
With the survey out, and the Friday After Five receiving feedback, “We got some feedback, this is actually the result. All the changes here are a result of that feedback”, says McReynolds.
Standing in the hot sun on the road was one of those changes the committee responded to. “This is suppose to be something you want to come to after work that’s enjoyable”, added McReynolds.
The next Friday After Five, scheduled for July 8th, has been dubbed Bandstand and Bikes. The Chamber is encouraging you to ride your bikes (motorcycles or bicycles) to downtown and enjoy two Rock-n-Roll bands that evening.
The final event of the year will be on August 5th, and will feature Montezuma Country artist Cody Hicks. The Chamber encourages you to join them that night for Boots and Brews.
