Basket Class at Russell Wildlife Area

On Friday, November 16, the Mahaska County Conservation Board will be offering a basket making class in the conservation center at the Russell Wildlife Area. The class will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and will be taught by Laura DeCook, MCCB Naturalist. Participants will need to bring a pair of scissors and a hand towel in order to make their own reed basket with a wooden base. Class size is for anyone age 10 and older and is limited to 10 people. Pre-registration is required and the cost is $20.00 per person. Call (641)673-9327 to sign up.
