Oskaloosa, Iowa – Those stepping into the Hawkeye Real Estate office on the north side of the square will be greeted by Hawkeye’s new office secretary Annette Leraaen. Leraaen began her duties on August 26 which include supporting the real estate agents and marketing coordination responsibilities

Leraaen and her husband, David, moved to Oskaloosa from Sheboygan, WI a year ago to accept a pastorate at New Hope Free Methodist Church also in Oskaloosa. Though she has been working temporary assignments over the past year through Manpower in Ottumwa and Montezuma, her primary career experience has been in customer service and graphic design. She earned her associated degree in Desktop Publishing/Graphic Arts from Illinois Central College, and her bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business Administration/Corporate Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

When not working, Leraaen enjoys outdoor activities during the summer months, reading and quilting during the winter. They have two adult children; the oldest, is married and living in Peoria, IL, and their youngest, who just completed her bachelor’s degree, is beginning a new job in upstate New York.

Leraaen and her family have lived in a variety of areas including Rockford IL, Glen Ellen IL, Hickory NC, Appleton WI, Peoria IL, and Sheboygan. Of Oskaloosa, Leraaen said, “I look forward to being part of the downtown community and exploring ways to give back.”
