Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the November Player of the Month awards.

Senior basketball player Marlon Alcindor (Queens, N.Y., Sociology) earned the Male award, while junior basketball player Kate Ylitalo (Maple Plain, Minn., Biology) claimed the Female honor. The award is the second for Ylitalo, while Alcindor is a first-time winner.

In seven games, Alcindor averaged 22.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in addition to eight assists, three steals, and two blocked shots. The senior shot 56.3% from the floor (54.1% 3-PT) and 93.3% from the free-throw line. He reached double figures in all seven games (one double-double), highlighted by a season-high 36 points. In that effort, he broke the school record for three-pointers with 12.

In seven outings, Ylitalo averaged 17.4 points and 5.9 rebounds, along with 13 steals, six assists, and one blocked shot. She made 46.4% of her field goals (45.8% 3-PT) and was 64.7% at the line. The junior hit double digits seven times with one double-double. Ylitalo had a top performance of 30 points.
