Booster Club Players of the Month Recognized

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the February, March, and April Player of the Month awards.

In February, sophomore wrestler John Altieri (Warwick, R.I., Sociology) won the Male award, while freshman track and field athlete Asia Laudermilch (Oskaloosa, Iowa, Physical Education) was tabbed for the Female honor. The award is the first for both individuals.

During the month, Altieri was 4-0 with two falls. His month was highlighted by winning the 125-pound weight class crown at the NAIA Central Qualifying Tournament.

In two meets (three events), Laudermilch broke school records in the 60-meter dash (7.90 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (26.66 seconds). She also placed in the top 10 in two events at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships.

Senior basketball player Torren Jones (Chandler, Ariz., Sociology) was the March Male recipient, while junior softball player Chyanne Koko (Waianae, Hawaii, Physical Education) claimed the Female accolade. The award is Jones’ second of his career and the first for Koko.

During seven games in March, Jones averaged 22.1 points and 12.9 rebounds, while also posting eight assists, seven steals, and three blocks. He shot 62.1% for the month and was named to the all- tournament team at the NAIA Division I National Championships.

Koko hit .438 in 18 March games, tallying two home runs with 19 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

Senior track and field athlete Derek Seddon (Knoxville, Iowa, Physical Education) took home the April Male honor, while sophomore golfer Elise Warne (Melbourne, Australia, Exercise Science) earned the Female laurel. The award is the seventh for Seddon in his career and the second for Warne.

Seddon’s busy April included competing in 13 events at six meets. He won seven competitions and managed five other top-three finishes. The senior broke school records in the discus (189-0) and hammer (174-1) and had a personal best in the shot put (52-10.5). He was named Heart Field Athlete of the Week four times.

Warne posted a 76.5 stroke average in three tournaments (6.5 rounds). All six full rounds were in the 70s, highlighted by a low of 76 three times. She won one tourney title and had another top-five finish.
