The ninth-best story of the 2014-2015 year is the addition of two awesome individuals to our coaching staff.

Willie Scott took over the women’s basketball program in March, while Jaymee Highcock became the new men’s soccer skipper in April.

It is well known by now that Scott will be bringing ‘style’ to the women’s cager group. He is also a proven winner, though, excelling at every stop he has made as both a player and coach and he expects to bring WPU back into the winning circle.

Highcock has loads of experience in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, playing at Benedictine (Kan.) and coaching at Avila (Mo.). His knowledge will be invaluable as the Statesmen enter into the new league this fall.

#9 Performance of the 2014-2015 Year

Prior to collecting his second All-America award, wrestler Scottie Bonds was dominating on the local stage as his performance in December earned the #9 spot on the 2014-2015 list.

The sophomore 141-pounder crushed all five of his opponents–pinning four of them–en route to the title at the Simpson Invitational. Bonds, who started the year with seven consecutive victories, eventually placed third at the NAIA National Championships.

At Simpson, Bonds was forced into the second period just one prior to his major-decision win in the finals.

#9 Video of the 2014-2015 Year

We unfortunately only caught one final post-game huddle, but it was a dandy.

At #9 on our 2014-2015 top 10 video list, we hope you enjoy Head Football Coach Todd Hafner addressing one happy squad amidst snow flurries.
