Not only were Statesmen and Lady Statesmen athletes successful on the field of play, but they also showed off their skills in the classroom, and their academic achievements are #2 on the list.

Throughout the year, a total of 22 individuals were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes by owning 3.5 Grade Point Averages. Football led all squads with five award-winners.

At the end of the school year, all varsity participants with 3.2 GPAs were also honored by the Midwest Collegiate Conference. William Penn notched 75 of those recipients, including ten each from volleyball and softball.

Junior golfer Adriaan de Villiers possibly earned the most noteworthy award, however, when as he was named a Capitol One CoSIDA At-Large Third-Team Academic All-American. The Academic All-America program honors student-athletes for their successes in the classroom and on the playing field. Junior men’s basketball player Davis Spielbauer was an academic all-District 5 pick by CoSIDA as well.
