Oskaloosa, Iowa – Pets are like part of the family for adults, but for the young one’s in the family pets are part of the family and a whole lot more.

So, 7 year old Addison Beane’s decided that holding a bake sale to help raise money for Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter was a good way of helping out those who helped her and her new cat friend Isabella. “If we could have, we would have taken more home,” says Amanda, Addison’s mother.

Addison’s love of animals is evident, and remembers another cat, an “orange cat that came up to me,” and thought this would be a good way to give back. Addison said she is doing this to “help the kitties”.

Addison, along with some help from her mother Amanda, have stocked all the needed baking supplies, and will be holding the sale this coming Friday night at a garage sale/bake sale located at 416 Fairview Dr. in Oskaloosa. The sale starts at 5 pm on Friday, and once again on Saturday starting at 8 am.
