WPU Records 93 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 12 NAIA Scholar Teams

Oskaloosa– As part of Wednesday’s National Awards Day, the NAIA announced its 2021-2022 Scholar-Athletes and Scholar Teams.

William Penn tallied 93 total Scholar-Athletes, led by 13 from the women’s volleyball program. A total of WPU 21 teams had a Scholar-Athlete, including 20 with multiple honorees.

In order to be eligible for NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must have earned a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and be listed on their team’s eligibility paperwork. Recipients must have attended the nominating institution for two full years (one year for a transfer) prior to being nominated.

A total of 12 teams garnered NAIA Scholar Team recognition by owning a 3.0 GPA. The list includes:

The shotgun sports team, which does not compete in the NAIA, also had a GPA over 3.0 at 3.00.
