WPU Falls Five More Spots in Latest Poll
Oskaloosa–A tight loss to an NCAA Division II foe dropped the Statesmen gridiron squad for the second week in a row as the NAIA released its first top-25 poll Monday.
William Penn (1-2), which lost 24-23 to Truman (Mo.) last Saturday, earned 28 points as it slipped from #20 to #25.
Morningside remains #1 with 314 points and all 14 first-place votes. St. Francis (Ind.) is second, while Carroll (Mont.), Cumberlands (Ky.), and fellow Midwest League foe Saint Xavier (Ill.) round out the top five.
The MWL is also represented by #7 Grand View and #11 St. Ambrose.
The navy and gold travel to Upland, Ind. Saturday to face Taylor in a Mid-States Football Association crossover game at noon (Central).
