William Penn University February Chautauqua Lecture
Oskaloosa, IA – Singer, songwriter, and producer Tim Schumacher will present at the William Penn University Chautauqua lecture on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Schumacher’s passion for music began when he first picked up the acoustic guitar at age 14. He started performing professionally at age 15 in Madison, Wisconsin with his band the Fuller Wood Singers. The group included legendary female blues singer, Tracy Nelson. In 1985, he became the first American to produce rock music in the USSR.
As a song writer, Schumacher has worked with Eric Heatherly, Simon Bruce, Jesse Bellamy of Jesse and Noah and the Irish singing sensation Heidi Talbot. He has written and produced many songs for the corporate world and has been an award winning producer of promotional videos, including a video for the University of Iowa featuring the legendary author Kurt Vonnegut. Schumacher has spent nearly 40 years in the music business. He comes to William Penn University to share his journey with other aspiring song writers. Join us on Thursday, February 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the atrium of the Musco Technology Center located on the northwest corner of campus as we learn the process to becoming a successful singer, songwriter and producer.
