William Penn Improves to #23 Entering Postseason

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s soccer team is clicking as it begins the playoff run and the raters awarded the squad for their strong play as the NAIA released its ninth top-25 poll Wednesday.

Winners of seven games in a row, WPU (12-6, 8-4 Heart) has moved up one spot to #23 with 139 points. The navy and gold will look to break the school record for consecutive wins Friday when they travel to Des Moines to face Grand View in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals at 3 p.m.

William Penn is one of six representatives from within the Heart in the poll. Headlining the group is #1 Central Methodist, while Missouri Valley is in the top 10 as well at #8. MidAmerica Nazarene is the fourth team inside the top 25 at #17, while Grand View (33rd) and Baker (40th) continue to belong in the receiving votes section.

CMU holds all 18 first-place votes along with 498 total points. Rounding out the national top five behind the Eagles is Oklahoma Wesleyan, Mid-America Christian (Okla.), Mobile (Ala.), and St. Thomas (Fla.).
