William Penn Ends Fall at Iowa Wesleyan Tournament

Burlington–The Statesmen linksters concluded their fall campaign at the Iowa Wesleyan Fun City Classic Friday and Saturday.

William Penn was sixth out of seven teams at the par-72 Spirit Hollow Golf Course. The team posted a two-day tally of 679 (332-347), while Iowa Western CC won the event at 619 (314-305). Blake Mitchell of Iowa Wesleyan was the tourney medalist with a 147 (71-76), distancing himself from the field by five strokes.

Adriaan de Villiers (Sr., Akasia, South Africa, Industrial Technology) guided the navy and gold in a tie for ninth out of 42 players. The senior finished at 161 (81-80).

Seb Stobart (Sr., Harare, Zimbabwe, Business Management) and Byron Lindeque (So., Boksburg, South Africa, General Accounting) were also inside the top 20. Stobart was 13th at 164 (81-83) and Lindeque was tied for 19th at 167 (83-84).

Kaden VanMaanen (Fr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Secondary Education) was 38th at 187 (87-100), while Jordan Krulik (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn., Biology) shot a 93 on Friday.

Terence Schafer (Fr., Solwezi, Zambia) also participated as an individual and was 41st at 208 (103-105).
