William Lee Meyers passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the University of Iowa. He was born on October 16, 1948, in Norfolk, Nebraska. The son of Lloyd L. Meyers and Helen Jenkins-Meyers.
In 1963, William moved to Victor, Iowa, and a year later found a new home in Oskaloosa. He worked predominantly at Vermeer until 2008. He was currently working at Kelderman’s until his passing.
William enjoyed tinkering with automotive equipment, whether it was tractors or cars. His leisure hours were spent fishing and with his girlfriend, Carolyn Vance.
William is survived by his significant other, Carolyn Vance of Oskaloosa; one daughter, Haley (Thomas) Frye of Oskaloosa; two sons, Billy (Lindsey) Meyers of Oskaloosa and Nick Meyers of Oskaloosa; three sisters, Carla Holliday, Ellen (Jim) Payne of Wright IA, and Jody (Pat) McQueen of Missouri. Twelve grandchildren, Bailey Meyers, Dylan Meyers, and Kenzi Meyers, Conner Wearmouth, Blake Wearmouth, and Ethan Wearmouth, Hunter Holdsworth, Bently Holdsworth, and Easton Holdsworth, Seira Meyers, and Chase Meyers, Jaylyn Jones.
He was preceded in death by his two parents, Lloyd Meyers and Helen Jenkins-Meyers, and a brother-in-law, Gary Holliday and dear friend, Travis Luckett.
A celebration of life will be held at the American Eagles in Oskaloosa on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
As was William’s wish, his body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
