Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Men’s Basketball team has earned the No. 3 overall seed in the upcoming National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men’s Basketball National Championship, announced via the live selection show Sunday night on the NJCAA Network.

The Warriors, winners of the NJCAA Region 11 and NJCAA North Central District Championships, earned an automatic bid to the tournament with Saturday night’s 70-66 win over No. 22 Dawson Community College. With the win, the Warriors punched their ticket to the national tournament in Hutchinson, KS for the 20th time in program history.

With the three seed in the tournament, the Warriors earned a bye to the second round and will open up play Monday, March 24th at 8:00 PM. Indian Hills will take on the winner of No. 14 seed Vincennes University (IN) and No. 19 seed Three Rivers College (MO). The first round of the tournament gets underway Saturday, March 22.

Indian Hills has now earned a top-three seed at the national tournament four times since the event became a seeded tournament in 2013. The Warriors have earned three No. 1 seeds, all since 2014. Indian Hills will compete as the No. 3 overall seed for the first time in program history.

Vincennes, who earned an at-large bid, and Three Rivers, winners of the NJCAA Midwest District Championship, will square off Saturday at 8:00 PM in the opening round. Indian Hills has matched up with Vincennes in the national tournament once before, a 109-94 loss in 1993, the program’s first year at the national tournament.

Fans can catch all of the action live via the NJCAA Network with a paid subscription. GoHillsTV, the official streaming platform of Indian Hills Community College, will provide a free audio-only broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament.
