Verwers, Menown Honored Academically

Oskaloosa–Devin Verwers (Sr., Norwalk, Iowa, Industrial Technology) and Connor Menown (Sr., Springfield, Mo., Physical Education) were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes Friday.

Verwers, now a two-time honoree, owned a 3.54 Grade Point Average entering this fall, while Menown posted a 3.61 mark entering his final collegiate season. The duo joins a list of 312 football players from within the NAIA to be awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
