(OSKALOOSA) – Today Rep. Guy Vander Linden (R-Oskaloosa) announced he is running for re-election to the Iowa House in district 79 which includes portions of Mahaska and Marion Counties.

Vander Linden was born in Oskaloosa and graduated from the University of Iowa and holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the Marine Corps’ Command and Staff College and the National War College. He is a retired Brigadier General in the United States Marines.

In the House, Vander Linden serves as the Chairman of the State Government committee and also serves on the Ways and Means committee, Administrative Rules Review Committee and the Administration and Regulation budget committee.

Vander Linden has been a consistent and conservative leader in the House. He will continue his efforts to make it easier to be an employer in Iowa and ensure Iowans keep more of their hard earned money.

“It seems that government is constantly looking for ways to place more burdens and regulations on Iowa’s job creators while also taking more money out of Iowans’ wallets. I will work to take down barriers for the hardworking taxpayers of Iowa,” said Vander Linden.

Guy serves his community through his volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA and Trees Forever.

Guy is married to Carrie and is the proud father of one son and two daughters.
