Vicente was competing in a higher weight class at 141 pounds, but it did not affect him as he finished 3-1 with a major decision. He eventually ended his day with a 10-4 loss to Tyler Patten of Northern Iowa in the finals.

Kyle Soderblom (So., Newton, Iowa, Biology) was also a placewinner, notching three wins to take fifth at 197 pounds. The sophomore recorded a fall at the Open.

149-pounder Charlton Benjamin (So., Atlanta, Ga., Sociology), 157-pounder Ishmael Rempson (So., Olympia Fields, Ill., Industrial Technology), and 174-pounder Nick Wise (Phoenix, Ariz., Biology) were all multiple winners as well. The trio all went 2-2 with a fall.

Chris Pittman (Fr., Diamond, Mo., Secondary Education) notched a fall at 174 pounds, while six other William Penn grapplers were victorious Saturday. The group consisted of 141-pounder Marshawn Lacy (So., Chicago Heights, Ill., Computer Science), 149-pounder Clint Doty (Fr., Warren, Mich., Biology), 157-pounder Christian Padilla (So., Tampa, Fla., Secondary Education), 174-pounder Joe Sumner (Jr., Delaware, Ohio, Physical Education), 184-pounder Elson Civilma (So., Deerfield Beach, Fla., Communications), and heavyweight Nathan Veverka (Jr., Montezuma, Iowa, Industrial Technology).
