Thomas Lawrance, 60, of Pella, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Pella Comfort House. Thomas Michael Lawrance, son of Donald Jack and Miriam Louise (Roberts) Lawrance, was born on June 14, 1963, in Sigourney, Iowa.

He graduated from Tri-County High School in 1981.

After graduation, Thomas began farming with his dad.

In 1993, he continued furthering his education at Indian Hills Community College in their paramedics program. He received his Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Indian Hills in 1999. Thomas found great joy in being a Registered Nurse at the University of Iowa until health issues forced him to retire in 2006.

Thomas married Kayla Tromp on December 2, 2010, in Oskaloosa. They were blessed with two children, Rylie and Audrey. His family was his greatest treasure.

The Civil War held great intrigue for Thomas. He enjoyed attending events surrounding the Civil War and discussing that historical period with other enthusiasts.

Left to honor and cherish Thomas’s memory are his wife Kayla; his two daughters, Rylie (Zach Noel) Lawrance and Audrey Lawrance, both of Pella; his mother-in-law Diana Azlin of Oskaloosa; and his father-in-law Kenny (Sharon) Tromp.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy, Loraina Lawrance, and his father-in-law, Jc Azlin.

Services for Thomas will be held at Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Doug Smiley from Calvary Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, beginning at noon, with the family present from 4-6 p.m. As was his wish, Tom’s body has been cremated. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery near Leighton, Iowa following the memorial service.
