Thelma M. Visser, 82, of Davenport, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois. She was born April 7, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Ella Louisa Morse Davis.
Thelma attended school in Centerville. Thelma spent the 25 years of her career working as a carrier for Visiting Nurses in Davenport.
Thelma was an animal lover, she enjoyed having her pets and feeding wildlife. She enjoyed staying fit and taking walks.
Her family includes her children, Debbie Valle of Davenport and Mike (& Judy) Visser of Oskaloosa; five grandchildren: Stacy, Ralphie, Mikey, John, and Shyanne; thirteen great grandchildren; her brother, Delbert (& Fran) Davis of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evelyn and Hazel; and a brother, Don Davis.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Forest Cemetery with Reverend Darren Melton officiating.
Visitation with the family present will be at 10:00 a.m. and a procession will form at 10:30 a.m. for those wishing to attend the graveside service. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
