Oskaloosa, Iowa – For the Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club, the annual golf outing is about fun, socializing, and raising money to help students achieve in extracurricular activities at the Oskaloosa Middle School and High School.

Heather Brown with the Oskaloosa Indian Booster Club spoke about how the community supports the club and the related activities at the schools such as student council, robotics, and various sporting activities.

Corporate sponsors had signs posted at each hole, while different games were played at the holes. Those games allowed players to move further toward the hole or win $10,000 in cash.

Many of the games involved students from the district, allowing them to become better acquainted with the community.

The money raised from Saturday’s outing goes directly into the club’s checkbook. Funds have enabled the booster club to hire the William Penn Strength and Conditioning department for the high school. This program was incorporated to assist students’ athleticism and to encourage other students to stay physically fit.

“The goal is really just to make a difference”, said Brown of the club’s efforts “to help out whenever and wherever we can”.
