‘The Alley’ was buzzing Thursday night as people came out to enjoy a couple of events taking place.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – ‘The Alley’ as it’s known is a gathering spot nestled in between Smokey Row Coffee and Bridal Dreams in downtown Oskaloosa.

‘Women in Business Summer Social’ was an event hosted by Kelli Steil State Farm and Gatton Realty on Thursday night at ‘The Alley’.

Ladies gathered for drinks and appetizers, and utilized the time to network.

Also going on in The Alley was Adult Coloring, which is a pastime that has become popular over the past couple of years.

April Gorski with the Book Vault was on hand for the ‘Color Me Calm Adult Coloring Club’.

Gorski said that adult coloring starting gaining traction nearly 2 years ago, and has since attracted many new artists and types of books available for varying interests.

Adults find coloring a good way of relaxing after a stressful day. Many spend time coloring while watching TV, listening to audiobooks or enjoying nature.

With the increased demand, Gorski says the selection at the Book Vault has increased as well, with varying degrees of difficulty and price range.

You can visit the Book Vault’s website at http://www.bookvault.org/ for the next time Color Me Calm Adult Coloring Club will meet.
