Statesmen Put Wraps on Regular Season at Hoosier Classic

Indianapolis, Ind.–The William Penn women’s bowling team closed out the regular season as it competed at the Hoosier Classic last Saturday and Sunday.

WPU placed 25th out of 66 teams with 8,268 pins in six regular games and 15 Baker rounds. Pikeville (Ky.) paced qualifying with 9,378 pins, while #2 seed Wichita State (Kan.) claimed the bracket play crown.

Kinsey Miller of Baker (Kan.) was the top individual in the 410-player field with a 231.3 average (1,388 pins).

Madison Ross (Sr., Charles City, Iowa, Exercise Science) headlined the Statesmen efforts, placing 25th with a 210.2 average.

Gabi Evans (Sr., West Liberty, Iowa, Psychology and Sociology), with a 196.2 clip, and Kelcey Aczon (So., Las Vegas, Nev., Nursing), at 195.3, also started in all six rounds.

Starting four times, Olivia Nolte (Sr., Atkins, Iowa, Elementary Education) averaged 184.8 pins, while Sammantha Meyers (Jr., Rockford, Ill., Elementary Education) (185.7) and Cydnee Whiteleather (Sr., Lehigh Acres, Fla., Elementary Education) (172.7) both rolled in three games.

Caitlin Radliff (Jr., Belleville, Ill., Software Engineering) rounded out WPU’s play with a 184.5 mark in two rounds.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Topeka, Kan. Saturday and Sunday to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship.
