Statesmen Fall into Receiving Votes Group

Oskaloosa–While the William Penn women’s golf team has yet to open its spring season, other teams have obviously impressed the national raters as the NAIA released its third top-25 rating Friday.

William Penn dropped to two rungs to an unofficial spot of #27 with 96 points. The navy and gold do, however, remain the only Heart of America Athletic Conference representatives in the ranking.

Keiser (Fla.) is the new #1 with 526 points and 15 first-place votes. SCAD Savannah (Ga.) remains second, while previous #1 British Columbia falls to third with the final four first-place ballots. Taylor (Ind.) and Dalton State (Ga.) round out the poll.

The Statesmen start the spring campaign at home on March 16-17, hosting the Mike “Fluff” Cowan Invitational in Oskaloosa. Play will be contested at Edmundson Golf Course.
