‘Snow Dump’ Remains Open For Yard Waste Collection

Oskaloosa City Hall

Due to increased demand and anticipated use, the city “snow dump” located on the south side of the Suffolk Road and High Avenue West will remain open to the public from sun-up to sundown during the months of October and November. The city will continue to accept, at no cost, brush, limbs, and unbagged leaves from residential property owners of Oskaloosa. In an effort to avoid improper and illegal dumping, the site will be monitored by the city for compliance with facility rules and regulations. This facility is only intended to be used for residential leaf, limb and brush drop-off. Contractor material, bulk trash, residential household waste and other materials are not accepted and should be taken to the Mahaska County Landfill. Violators who dump illegally at the facility will be prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law.

If you witness illegal dumping, report it the Oskaloosa Police Department immediately at (641) 672-2557.
