Seddon Earns Another POW

William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–Derek Seddon (Sr., Knoxville, Iowa, Physical Education) powered to another qualifying mark last weekend and his efforts helped him to be named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Monday.

A three-time winner this year and seven-time recipient in his career, Seddon added to his list of qualifications at the Central Invitational.

The senior, who had already punched his ticket to nationals in the discus, hit the automatic standard in the hammer throw with a second-place toss of 173-4. He also again surpassed the ‘A’ standard in the discus with a winning throw of 174-6, and took third in the shot put at 49-5.5.

Seddon currently leads the NAIA in the discus and ranks eighth in the hammer. Within the Heart, He is first in the discus and hammer and second in the shot put.

The weekly accolade is the sixth for William Penn this season.
