Oskaloosa School Board meets in regular session

Oskaloosa School Administration

The Oskaloosa School Board met in regular session this past week. To start off, the district heard from the District Leadership Team. The report indicated that the school district is beginning to look at revamping its report card system to a standardized report card system. Under the new system, if implemented, students would receive numbers rather than letters for grades. Students would also possibly have participation as a separate grade on their report card. For the high school, students would receive both numbers and letters for grades so as not to affect the GPA system. In other action, the school board:

  • Heard a report on the Professional Learning Communities
  • Heard a report regarding a voluntary audit of the school district
  • Approved the purchase of new food service procurement software
  • Approved a resolution “authorizing and providing for the issuance of and authorizing and directing the final terms and conditions of sale of Bonds.”

The next meeting of the Oskaloosa School Board will be February 8th at 7:30 pm in the George Daily Auditorium Board Room
