School Board sells construction trades house
The Oskaloosa School board has just sold its house from last year ending speculation on what would happen to the house. At Tuesday’s school board meeting, the board accepted and awarded a bid to an Oskaloosa couple pursuant to proper closing procedures. The new house is located at the Webster subdivision where more houses are being built. At the August school board meeting, the board did not receive any bids on the house raising specualation as to what would happen to the house. After much debate, the board voted last month to lower the minium bid in an attempt to sell the house by this Tuesday’s meeting. In other news, the school board:
- Received a report from Mary Cooksley, curriculum director, on the adequate yearly testing progress
- Approved the 1st reading of a revision to board policy 802.4
- Granted an early graduation request
- Approved requests from Eddyville and North Mahaska school district to be able to travel in Oskaloosa’s school district to pick up students
- Approved a request to for our bus drivers to be able to travel into Eddyville and North Mahaska school district’s boundries to pick up students
- Approved an intent to retire from Shirley Vore as receptionist at Oskaloosa Middle School
The next school board meeting will be on Ocotober 12th at 7:30 pm in the George Daily Boardroom
