George Daily Auditorium

The Oskaloosa School Board met in regular session Tuesday evening. The main item on the Agenda was approval of the certified budget for the 2012 fiscal year. Superintedent Russ Reiter reported that the school district is budgeting for zero percent allowable growth this year. If the state does go ahead and provide some allowable growth for school districts, the district can adjust its budget to account for this. If they do adjust the budget, the new tax levy, which is a 44 cent decrease from last year to 16.98 per thousand, this year’s levy could drop by 15 to 25 cents.  The board ended up approving the 2012 fiscal year budget unanimously. In other action, the school board:

  • Received another report on Grade Level Benchmark report cards
  • Approved a request to purchase Math Curriculum and resources
