Ruth A. Lage, 75, of Lexington, KY and formerly of Oskaloosa and Marshalltown, IA passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Lexington. Ruth A. Lage, the daughter of John R. Mattix and Nadine (Johnson) Phipps was born, July 17, 1945 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Ruth attended Oskaloosa schools and graduated with the class of 1964.
After her education, Ruth was married to Don Lage and to this union two children were born. They later divorced. Ruth lived in Marshalltown and was primarily a homemaker. In 2002, Ruth moved to Altoona, IA and began working at the local Walmart.
Ruth enjoyed sewing, crafting and time with her dogs, but her true love has always been the time spent with her family.
Ruth’s family includes her two children; Dave (& Jill) Lage of Waukee, IA, and Kim (& Tim) Newton of Lexington, KY; her four grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Augspurger of Altoona, IA; and a brother, John (& Ann) Mattix of Oskaloosa, IA.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents John and Nadine.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Coal Creek Cemetery in Mahaska County, IA.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to Langkamp Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
