Question of the Week: Do you approve of the way President Obama is handling the situation in Libya?
Last week, we asked you if you believed that Oskaloosa Schools were making the right improvements to bring them out of the “in need of improvement” status. 53 residents responded with 37 residents (70%) saying No, 11 residents (21%) saying Unsure, and 5 residents (9%) saying Yes. The question of the week poll is unscientific and does not reflect the view of Osky News.
These week, we look at a national/international issue. A couple of weeks ago, we learned that the US, as part of Coalition Forces with the UN, had taken military action against Libya and Gaddafi. The main part of this military action was firing Tomahawk Missiles at selected targets in Libya. The secondary part was enforcing a no fly zone over Libya. The attack seemed to come as a surprise to some. This weekend, we came to learn that rebel forces had made gains in Libya and that they had retaken some cities previously held by Gaddafi forces.
Throughout the whole ordeal, the question of the President’s handling of the situation has been discussed. The President’s approval ratings have seemed to have hit a downward slump. Some say that he is doing fine handling the situation, meanwhile others say that he isn’t handling it good enough. Those who support the president say that he is doing all he can in a situation where he didn’t have much of a choice. Those who don’t support the President say that he has gotten too involved in a situation that doesn’t directly affect the US.
Now it’s your turn to decide. Vote in our 0nline poll. The poll will be open until 9 pm next Sunday when we will close the poll and release the final voting numbers. If you have any questions, e-mail us at info@oskynews.org or visit us on our Facebook page.
