Putzier Collects Program’s First NAIA POW Award

Oskaloosa–Breck Putzier (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn.) had such an impressive output last week that the national voters put him at the top of the list as he was named NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday.

Putzier garnered not only his first career national honor, but also the first in program history.

The freshman scored 11 goals, while assisting seven times to guide the Statesmen to wins over Clarke and Midland.

Against Clarke, he tallied five goals (four in the third quarter) in addition to recording four assists. He then added six scores (two in two different stanzas) versus Midland with three assists as well.

For the year, Putzier has 33 goals with 22 assists (both team highs). He has also tallied 18 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
