Oskaloosa, Iowa – Starting this August, the Oskaloosa Preschool Partnership, comprised of Head Start, Kids’ Corner, Mahaska County YMCA, and the Oskaloosa Community School District will be partnering to offer 4-year old preschool and child care at Webster School.

“We are excited to be offering preschool and day care for 4-year olds in the community in one location. By having teachers and students in one location we improve consistency in teaching acrossclassrooms. It also helps prepare students socially for the elementary school,” said Oskaloosa Elementary School Principal Tim Milledge.

“More than 95 percent of brain development occurs before the age of 5. Children learn through classroom teaching and play, so blending the preschool and child care in one environment provides a strong, life-long learning base for these young students and their families.”

Full-time, part-time, and drop-in, child-care for all youth served in the building including preschool, Head Start, and transition kindergarten classes as space allows.

To enroll in 4-year-old Preschool, call the providers directly: Head Start at 641-676-1830, Kids Corner at 641-673-7409, Oskaloosa Elementary at 641- 673-8092, or the YMCA at 641-673-8411. For child care contact Kids Corner or the YMCA.
