Patricia Ann (Brooks) Capps, 75, of Ballwin, Missouri and formerly of Ottumwa, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Patti fought a short, brave battle with cancer.

Patti was born on April 10th, 1938 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of the late Beatrice and Everett Brooks. Patti was married to the late Roger Capps for 50 years. Patti and Roger made their home in Carlinville, IL, where Patti was an active member of the Carlinville Methodist Church, Carlinville Country Club, and Hospital volunteer throughout the years. After Roger’s death in 2006, Patti moved to St. Louis to be near her daughters. She was very active until her recent illness. She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital, was active at the Green Trails Methodist Church. She loved to travel, golf, and spend time with her grandchildren.

Patti’s family would like to thank St. Luke’s hospital staff for their loving care in her final days.

Patti and Roger are survived by their three children, Kim Capps, Ballwin, MO, Greg Capps (Carole), of Rocky Point, New York, Jill Capps-Meiners (Rob), of Naples, FL. She was beloved by her 5 grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, and Aimee of Rocky Point, NY. Laura and Mallory of Naples, Florida. Patti is also survived by her sister -in- law Cheryl (& Don) Craft and her brother-in-law, Ron (& Mary) Capps.. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation: 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM January 14, 2014 at Fremont Funeral Chapel

Interment: Brooks Cemetery near Hedrick, Iowa.
