Oskaloosa Wrestling Falls to Dallas Center-Grimes in Conference Dual
The Oskaloosa High School boys wrestling team faced a tough challenge Thursday night as they traveled to Dallas Center-Grimes (DCG) for a Little Hawkeye Conference dual. Despite a spirited effort, Oskaloosa fell to DCG by a final score of 61-17, bringing the Indians’ dual record to 4-3 on the season.
Highlights from the Match
Oskaloosa found success in key individual matchups, highlighted by victories from Colton Shaffer, Brock Beerbower, and Parker Jordan in their respective weight classes.
At 144 pounds, Shaffer delivered a technical fall over Kellen Wegner with a dominant 21-5 performance in 3:46.
At 175 pounds, Beerbower pinned Nolan Parrish in 4:34 to secure six points for the Indians.
At 215 pounds, Jordan earned another pin for Oskaloosa, defeating Clark Johnson in 4:21.
Additional Matches
In extra matches, several Oskaloosa wrestlers demonstrated resilience and skill. Sam Nelson recorded two pins, defeating Houston Day and Oscar Jacobo at 126 and 132 pounds, respectively. Ivan Montgomery also notched a win at 138 pounds with a fall over Tristen Meyers in 1:45, and Carter Jordan earned a major decision over Noah Townsend at 144 pounds with an 18-9 victory.
However, the depth and strength of the DCG lineup proved too much, as they claimed wins in multiple weight classes through a combination of falls, technical falls, and major decisions.
