The Oskaloosa Public Library Teen Advisory Board winning the Collaborative Summer Library Program Teen Video Challenge for the State of Iowa.

Oskaloosa, IA – Members of the Oskaloosa Public Library Teen Advisory Board were honored Wednesday, June 17 at their monthly meeting for winning the Collaborative Summer Library Program Teen Video Challenge for the State of Iowa.

Merri Monks, Iowa State Library Youth Services Consultant, presented filmmakers Ethan Doak, Washington Pearce and Soren Pearce with certificates and a $150 cash prize. Other participants in the film were Abigail Vanegmond, Eli Westercamp, Finley Pearce and Lane Doak.

The filmmakers, Ethan, Washington and Soren chose to donate the $150 prize to the Oskaloosa Public Library to support teen activities at the library and to purchase new materials for the teen collection. The library also received a $50 gift certificate to Upstart and a selection of young adult novels in honor of the teens’ video.

The video, “Read to the Chase,” was filmed in the Oskaloosa Public Library and promotes the library’s Teen Summer Reading Program, Unmask! A link to the video may be found on the library’s Facebook page at http://facebook.com/oskaloosalibrary.
