Failure to affix drug tax stamp
On July 26th 2011 Officers with the Oskaloosa Police Department and Deputies of the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Carey James Legvold at 1595 Galena Lane in rural New Sharon, Iowa. During the course of the search warrant, three bags of high grade marijuana bud were located along with a small amount of hashish. The bags of marijuana have a combined weight of approximately 1.17 lbs. Legvold was taken into custody by deputies with the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office prior to the execution of the search warrant during a traffic stop near the residence. Legvold was taken to the Mahaska County Jail where he posted $5000 bond and was released. The investigation is continuing and further criminal charges may be filed at a later date.
