Oskaloosa JV Ends Season 5-2 At Washington
Oskaloosa Indians
The Oskaloosa JV team traveled to Washington Monday night and got the win 53-46. Both defenses struggled to keep the opposing team out of the end zone for most of the night. Osky jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead on two touchdown passes from Cole Henry to Nik Dykstra before Washington scored. The Indians answered back with another score but after a Washington touchdown the Demons blocked a punt a scored again to take a 21-20 lead. Alex Chapman intercepted a pass with 16 seconds left in the half and then Cole Henry connected with Chapman on a 35 yard touchdown pass with less than a second to go before halftime to give the Indians the 26-21 lead at half. After an Oskaloosa 3 and out on offense to start the half Washington scored quickly to take the lead. The Indians answered right back when Casey Hill went 92 yards on the 1st play for a touchdown. Washington then made a field goal to cut the lead to 1 point at 32-31. Oskaloosa would then score again and with the PAT made the score 39-31. Again Washington answered and made the 2 pt. try to tie the score at 39 all. The Indian offense then marched down field and after a Casey Hill 1 yard run and a Cole Henry PAT took a 46-39 lead. Washington would then tie the game at 46 and the JV offense took the ball with about 4 minutes left. They calmly marched 82 yards down the field. After several good gains the Indians came to a 4th and 10 on the 21 yard line. Henry connected with Hill for 12 yards on slant to get the 1st down. The following play Henry hit Hill on a pass for a 9 yard touchdown with 20 seconds left. Henry would make the PAT for the final score 53-46. The Indian JV team ends their season with 5 wins and 2 losses.
